We are looking for a talented and forward-thinking engineer to join the Infrastructure team in a DevOps and platform engineering capacity. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in building cloud-native environments with a focus on automation, scalability, and security, along with strong proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC). This role will involve shaping and evolving the company’s AWS platform—modernising deployment processes, automating environment creation, and ensuring systems are reliable, consistent, and highly resilient.
Responsibilities- Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure using AWS services such as EC2, EKS, RDS/Aurora, ElastiCache, OpenSearch and CloudFront.
- Lead and support the adoption of Kubernetes on EKS for both production and internal workloads.
- Architect and implement Infrastructure-as-Code pipelines, integrating Terraform (or similar) into CI/CD workflows for provisioning, validation, and automated testing.
- Implement zero-downtime deployment strategies (blue/green, rolling, canary) with automated rollback and recovery.
- Drive infrastructure improvements, reducing single points of failure and enhancing autoscaling, high availability, and managed service utilisation.
- Collaborate with SRE, Security, and Engineering teams to improve observability, monitoring, and alerting using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and CloudWatch.
- Work closely with Security to embed best practices for IAM, secrets management, WAF, and governance.
- Optimise performance and cloud spend through automation and cost-visibility tooling.
- Participate in on-call rotations, incident reviews, and ongoing reliability enhancements.
- Proven experience designing, automating, and maintaining AWS infrastructure (EKS, RDS, EC2, CloudFront, VPC, IAM, Security Hub).
- Hands-on experience building IaC pipelines using Terraform and integrating with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, AWS CodePipeline, etc.).
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes operations on AWS, including scaling, deployment automation, and monitoring.
- Solid background in Linux systems administration, networking, and cloud security.
- Familiarity with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki, and structured alerting practices.
- Experience with database migrations, high-availability configurations, backups, and disaster recovery.
- Strong scripting and automation skills (Terraform, Python, Bash, or similar).
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with a drive to improve engineering efficiency through automation and standardisation.
