A leading global investment banking and asset management firm is seeking an Operations Analyst to join their Asset Management Private Real Estate team in London for a short-term cover assignment.
MUST HAVE: at least two years’ experience supporting commercial real estate transactions including direct property deals as well as lending/borrowing arrangements and equity transactions.
What you'll do:
- Collaborate closely with investing professionals, portfolio managers, capital markets teams, strategists, controllers, legal counsel, engineering experts, risk managers, credit analysts, tax specialists, compliance officers and other operational groups to ensure seamless execution of real estate transactions.
- Gain comprehensive understanding of real estate investments by supporting processes related to acquisitions, dispositions, financing (lending and borrowing), construction projects, development initiatives and ongoing asset management activities.
- Provide subject matter expertise on systems and business processes by partnering with internal teams and external stakeholders to facilitate accurate booking, closing and settlement of time-sensitive complex transactions.
- Support regulatory reporting requirements for real estate investment portfolios by ensuring timely collection and submission of relevant data in accordance with industry standards.
- Create and maintain detailed investment reference data across multiple systems to enable precise trade execution and robust risk calculations for all transaction types.
- Oversee general entity maintenance tasks such as registration and dissolution of entities involved in real estate deals while ensuring compliance with governance protocols.
- Manage payment processes for new investments as well as ongoing cash management functions associated with hard real estate assets including rent collection and sales tracking.
- Handle data management responsibilities encompassing servicer data integration, rent roll analysis and sales performance monitoring to support informed decision-making.
- Demonstrate excellent judgement when addressing challenges or ambiguities within the team—especially when precedents are limited or evolving—and contribute positively to problem-solving discussions.
What you bring:
- At least two years’ experience supporting commercial real estate transactions including direct property deals as well as lending/borrowing arrangements and equity transactions.
- Prior knowledge of commercial real estate loans, equities, bonds or derivatives is preferred; familiarity with multiple asset classes such as office buildings, retail spaces or hospitality venues is advantageous.
- Exceptional organisational skills demonstrated through effective project management of transaction workflows involving multiple stakeholders across regions.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities enabling clear interaction with senior audiences as well as third-party consultants or service providers.
- High attention to detail combined with critical thinking capabilities that allow you to identify issues early and propose practical solutions within tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel along with comfort navigating various internal systems used for trade booking or risk calculation purposes.
- Experience managing regulatory reporting processes or compliance-related documentation within financial services or asset management environments is desirable.
- A systems-oriented mindset paired with analytical skills that empower you to create innovative approaches for process improvement or data integrity challenges.
