What you'll do:
- Deliver high-quality specialist accounting advice to clients across various sectors, ensuring their needs are met efficiently and proactively throughout the year.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Transaction Services, Tax, Valuations, and Corporate Finance to provide holistic solutions for clients’ most challenging issues.
- Lead or support the delivery of projects focused on technical accounting matters such as revenue recognition, financial instruments, share-based payments, tax accounting, and more.
- Assess the impact of new and recently adopted accounting standards (including IFRS 9, IFRS 15, IFRS 16, IFRS 17) on client operations and provide clear guidance on implementation.
- Support transaction teams with GAAP conversions and M&A activities by analysing IFRS 3 implications, group reorganisations, and private equity transactions.
- Prepare complex consolidation models and cashflow forecasts involving multi-entity or multi-currency scenarios as well as acquisitions within reporting periods.
- Assist clients in preparing front-end narrative reporting and financial statement disclosures that meet regulatory requirements and best practice standards.
- Develop and deliver tailored accounting training sessions for clients to enhance their understanding of evolving standards and practices.
- Follow internal procedures meticulously while providing technical advice to ensure consistently high-quality outputs for engagement lead review.
- Contribute actively to business development by preparing proposals for new work, identifying opportunities with existing clients, and enhancing the internal brand through networking.
What you bring:
- To excel as an Accounting Advisory Manager in this thriving London-based team, you will bring a wealth of experience from previous roles involving technical accounting under IFRS and UK GAAP frameworks.
- Hold a recognised accountancy qualification such as ACA, CA, ACCA or equivalent with strong technical knowledge of IFRS, UK GAAP and the UK Companies Act.
- Demonstrate substantial experience in technical accounting roles, ideally with an external audit background, and up-to-date knowledge of recent developments including IFRS 9, 15, and 16.
- Showcase proven ability in developing positive client relationships by delivering proactive service that exceeds expectations across all touchpoints.
- Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills with the capacity to articulate complex technical concepts clearly in both reports and presentations.
- Display a problem-solving mindset with evidence of applying accounting principles effectively in unusual or one-off situations requiring sound judgement.
- Experience leading or supporting project delivery within cross-functional teams involving Transaction Services or similar disciplines is highly desirable.
- Ability to prepare advanced consolidation models or cashflow forecasts involving multi-entity/multi-currency environments is advantageous.
- Familiarity with US GAAP or sector specialisms would be beneficial but not essential for success in this position.
- Experience working with listed companies or large corporates is desirable but not mandatory; exposure to private equity transactions is also valued.
