I'm currently supporting a leading COMAH-regulated chemical manufacturing organisation, who are looking to recruit an experienced E&I Technician. This is a key role supporting the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of plant equipment within a complex industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform planned preventive and reactive maintenance on electrical, control, and instrumentation systems
- Diagnose faults and carry out effective troubleshooting and repairs
- Work within a permit-to-work system, ensuring full compliance
- Use engineering and ERP systems for work orders, maintenance planning, and materials management
- Support wider site engineering activities and improvement projects
- Provide cover for the E&I Coordinator when required
- Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards
About You
We’re looking for a hands-on engineer with a strong maintenance background in a similar heavy industrial setting.
Essential:
- Time-served Electrical / Instrumentation Maintenance Engineer
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation or related discipline
- 18th Edition (BS7671) certification
- Proven experience in fault finding and diagnostics
- Background in chemical, petrochemical, or high-hazard manufacturing environments
- Strong communication skills
