Group Financial Controller
Salary: Β£70,000 - Β£90,000 DOE

A leading organisation in Walsall is seeking a Group Financial Controller to join their business and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the business. This opportunity offers you the chance to work closely with senior management, oversee multi-company & multi-currency consolidations.
Responsibilities of the Group Financial Controller:
- Provide guidance and support to group accounting staff while liaising regularly with senior management teams to ensure alignment on financial objectives.
- Prepare and review comprehensive UK and Group financial reports and analysis, ensuring accuracy and clarity for all stakeholders.
- Attend to all aspects of Group annual accounts including consolidation processes and audit coordination, maintaining high standards of compliance.
- Conduct thorough reviews of financial procedures, contracts systems, and recommend improvements where necessary to enhance efficiency.
- Ensure strict compliance with regulatory bodies regarding finance, contracts, data protection, money laundering, ONS reporting, and ISO requirements as applicable.
- Work diligently in accordance with legal and statutory requirements as well as company policies and procedures to uphold organisational integrity.
- Assist with the implementation of quality systems and workplace health and safety measures across the finance function.
- Prepare monthly cash flow forecasts for the UK company and review intercompany billings to maintain effective liquidity management.
- Oversee preparation of annual financial statements for all group companies while coordinating audits including multi-currency consolidation workpapers.
- Manage customer contracts by reviewing and approving variations, attend to company secretarial duties, premises management, insurance requirements, and provide advice on tax transfer pricing policy.
What you bring:
- Recognised qualifications in accountancy are essential for this role as they underpin your ability to manage complex financial operations.
- At least five years' experience handling multi-company consolidations involving multiple currencies is required to ensure seamless integration across entities.
- A high level of literacy combined with strong numeracy skills enables you to analyse intricate financial data accurately.
- Excellent interpersonal skills are vital for nurturing collaborative relationships with staff members both locally and internationally.
- Proven managerial abilities allow you to guide accounting teams effectively while supporting their professional development.
- A history of implementing or developing appropriate financial systems demonstrates your capacity for driving operational enhancements.
- Demonstrated time management skills ensure that tasks are completed efficiently without compromising quality or compliance.
- Flexibility in responding to changing demands is important for adapting quickly within a dynamic organisational environment.
- Ideally previous experience using Exchequer accounting software would be advantageous but not mandatory for success in this role.
