A growing business based in Verwood is looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join its finance team on a temporary basis.
This is a hands-on role requiring someone who can hit the ground running, with particularly strong reconciliation experience across both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. You will also take responsibility for CIS returns and support the wider finance function with day-to-day transactional accounting.

Accounts Assistant Responsibilities
- Complete regular supplier and customer account reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies
- Support both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
- Prepare and submit CIS returns accurately and within required deadlines
- Assist with bank reconciliations and ensure transactions are correctly recorded
- Process invoices, payments and receipts across the ledgers
- Resolve supplier and customer queries efficiently
- Maintain accurate accounting records and support month-end activity
- Provide additional finance support to the wider team as required
Accounts Assistant Requirements
- Previous experience working within a hands-on Accounts Assistant or transactional finance position
- Strong reconciliation experience across both purchase ledger and sales ledger
- Previous experience preparing and submitting CIS returns is essential
- Confident investigating differences and resolving ledger issues
- Good Excel skills and comfortable working with accounting systems
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach
- Able to work independently and quickly pick up existing processes
- Must be immediately available or able to start at very short notice
