A leading global financial institution is seeking a Market Risk Manager to join its London-based traded risk team.

This is a hands-on, business-facing role providing independent risk oversight across a dynamic portfolio spanning XVA, counterparty risk, Prime Services and financing activities. You will partner closely with Front Office, Credit Risk, Treasury, Quants and Technology teams to identify emerging risks, challenge risk-taking and support sound commercial decision-making.

Key responsibilities

  • Monitor and challenge market-risk exposures, including VaR, stress testing, sensitivities, P&L and limit utilisation.

  • Provide risk oversight across XVA, CVA, funding, collateral, margin and counterparty-financing exposures.

  • Assess new trades, structured transactions and portfolio changes, including concentration, liquidity, wrong-way and close-out risk.

  • Review hedge performance and contribute to risk appetite, limits, scenarios and governance reporting.

  • Work directly with senior stakeholders across Markets and Risk, escalating material issues where appropriate.

  • Support regulatory, capital and risk-framework initiatives affecting the traded-risk portfolio.

About you

You will have strong experience in Traded Market Risk, ideally with exposure to one or more of XVA, CVA, Counterparty Credit Risk, Prime Services, Equity Financing, Securities Financing, Rates or FX. You should be confident engaging with Front Office stakeholders and able to translate complex risk issues into clear, practical recommendations.
