Junior Finance Controller in London

A leading global business is seeking a French-speaking Junior Finance Controller to join their London-based finance team.

Responsibilities

• Support the Senior Finance Controller by assisting with financial reporting and day-to-day finance activities across multiple entities.
• Analyse and reconcile accounting documents for subsidiaries operating throughout Africa, ensuring accuracy and compliance at all times.
• Review General Ledger transactions spanning several countries to maintain the integrity of financial records.
• Communicate complex financial information clearly and effectively with non-financial operational teams to foster understanding and cooperation.
• Liaise regularly with accountants based in African subsidiaries to ensure consistency in accounting practices and facilitate knowledge sharing.
• Assist in the continuous improvement of finance processes and controls by identifying areas for enhancement and implementing best practices.
• Contribute to maintaining compliance with internal policies as well as external regulations governing financial operations.
• Participate in cross-functional projects that require collaboration between finance and other departments within the organisation.
• Prepare detailed reports for management review, highlighting key findings and recommendations for process improvements.
• Be willing and able to travel internationally after probation to support subsidiaries and strengthen inter-personal connections.

The Ideal Candidate

• French language proficiency is essential; you must be able to communicate fluently both verbally and in writing with colleagues across international locations.
• You have at least three years' experience in finance or accounting roles (five years preferred), ideally within multinational organisations or similar environments.
• Part-qualified or fully qualified in a recognised accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIMA or equivalent is required for this position.
• Experience using ERP systems and accounting software is advantageous; familiarity with digital tools will help streamline processes.
• Your analytical skills are highly developed, allowing you to reconcile complex accounts accurately while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills enable you to build relationships across diverse teams and explain financial concepts clearly to non-finance colleagues.
• You are comfortable working in fast-paced settings where adaptability is key; previous exposure to multicultural environments is beneficial.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within teams as well as independently when required shows your dependability.
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally after probation reflects your openness to new experiences and commitment to building inter-personal connections.
