An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Assistant Management Accountant to join a leading safety solutions provider in London. This full-time, permanent position offers a competitive salary of Β£37,000 - Β£42,000 and is ideally suited to a part-qualified accountant eager to develop their skills within a supportive finance team. Responsibilities:

* Independently manage supplier and customer invoice processing, cash allocation, payment runs, and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

* Support aged creditor and debtor reviews by resolving finance queries and managing timely collections and payments across the business.

* Prepare and submit working capital reporting covering debtors, creditors, cash flow, inventory, and retentions while maintaining accurate finance records.

* Maintain purchase orders, sales order data, and order book updates accurately within the company system to support operational efficiency.

* Track customer retentions and provide reporting to ensure visibility of amounts due, outstanding balances, and released funds.

* Liaise with sales, operations, procurement, and project teams to resolve discrepancies and improve data accuracy throughout financial processes.

* Manage General Ledger maintenance by preparing journals and completing month-end and year-end close activities with strong attention to detail.

* Prepare balance sheet reconciliations including accruals, prepayments, provisions, supporting schedules, and audit trails for robust financial control.

* Submit management accounts, KPI reporting, variance analysis while supporting budgeting, forecasting, and project-based revenue reporting initiatives.

* Support audit information requests as well as VAT return submissions and statutory reporting requirements in compliance with accounting policies.

The Ideal Candidate:

* Part-qualified ACCA, CIMA or ACA or actively studying towards a recognised accounting qualification is essential for this role.

* Ideally 3-5 years' progressive finance experience in hands-on accounting positions demonstrating reliability across AP/AR processes.

* Strong experience managing general ledger entries including month-end support and balance sheet reconciliations with high accuracy.

* Good understanding of working capital management principles such as cash flow analysis, accruals/prepayments handling and financial controls implementation.

* Confident Excel user equipped with analytical skills necessary for detailed financial review tasks within fast-moving environments.

* Ability to work independently while taking ownership of tasks ensuring deadlines are consistently met without compromising quality standards.

* Excellent communication skills enabling effective collaboration with both finance professionals and non-finance stakeholders across the organisation.

* Experience in project-based environments such as engineering/manufacturing/rail/technology/safety-critical sectors is highly desirable but not mandatory.

* Exposure to inventory/stock accounting practices including order book management or ERP system utilisation would be advantageous for this position.

* Experience supporting audits/statutory reporting/VAT returns/budgeting/forecasting processes adds further value though not required.
