Legal Counsel - Structured Transactions & Derivatives

A leading global financial institution is seeking an experienced lawyer to join its Transaction Legal team, supporting a specialist risk solutions business focused on derivatives and hedging transactions.
This is a highly commercial role offering exposure to complex structured transactions across a broad range of financing and risk management products. The successful candidate will partner closely with front-office stakeholders, providing legal support from the structuring stage through to execution.
Key Responsibilities
Advise on the structuring, negotiation and execution of loan-linked hedging transactions, deal-contingent trades, and other ancillary hedging arrangements.
Draft, review and negotiate a range of derivatives and transaction documents.
Analyse financing and inter-creditor arrangements to assess hedging rights, obligations and associated legal risks.
Partner with front-office teams and key stakeholders to facilitate transaction execution and manage legal and reputational risk.
Provide practical, commercially focused legal advice on complex and bespoke transactions.
Contribute to legal department initiatives and participate in wider strategic projects.
Experience Required
Qualified lawyer or similar qualification.
Strong derivatives and structured transactions experience gained either in private practice or in-house within financial services.
Solid understanding of derivatives documentation and market-standard agreements, including ISDA documentation.
Experience advising on finance-linked secured hedging transactions.
Familiarity with leveraged finance, infrastructure finance and associated financing documentation would be advantageous.
Excellent analytical, commercial and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
