Contract IT Support Engineer (2nd Line) - Education Sector
Location: Coventry (Onsite, Full-Time)
Rate: £200-£230 per day (Umbrella)
Contract: Immediate Start Available
We are currently seeking an experienced contract 2nd Line IT Support Engineer to join a busy and dynamic educational environment in Coventry. This is a full-time onsite role requiring a proactive individual who can provide high-quality technical support across a range of infrastructure, network, and end-user technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 2nd line technical support to staff and users.
- Support and administer Microsoft Active Directory environments.
- Manage and troubleshoot Microsoft 365/Office 365 services.
- Support Google Workspace applications and administration.
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot network infrastructure and connectivity issues.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and security groups.
- Support hardware, software, printers, devices, and classroom technology.
- Escalate complex incidents where required and work collaboratively with wider IT teams.
- Ensure excellent customer service and timely resolution of support tickets.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a 2nd Line IT Support role.
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory administration.
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365 / Office 365.
- Network support and troubleshooting experience.
- Experience supporting Google Workspace environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Desirable
- Previous experience working within a school, college, university, or education environment.
- Experience supporting Windows desktop and server environments.
- Knowledge of safeguarding requirements within educational settings.
Compliance Requirements
- Must hold a valid Enhanced DBS or be eligible and willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check.
- Available to start ASAP
