Our client is recruiting for a proactive Assistant Finance Manager to join their business based in Coventry. The role is paying £40k per annum and requires 2 days on-site per week. Previous experience in SME environments and mentoring junior members of staff are essential. What you'll do: Assist in preparing and maintaining the month-end timetable to ensure all deadlines are consistently met for accurate financial reporting. Prepare management accounts with detailed reconciliations and supporting schedules that underpin robust financial control. Review and assist with bank reconciliations as well as nominal ledger maintenance to uphold the integrity of financial records. Complete VAT returns, fixed asset accounting tasks, and general ledger checks to ensure compliance and accuracy across all finance processes. Support payroll processing activities alongside HMRC reporting and pension submissions for seamless employee remuneration. Contribute actively to year-end statutory accounts preparation while liaising with external auditors for smooth audit processes. Provide cover for finance operations tasks such as loan postings, payments, and refunds whenever required to maintain business continuity.
