Robert May’s School has a vacancy for a hardworking, flexible and reliable Site Assistant, with a range of practical skills, to join our Estates team.
We are seeking to appoint someone who will engage positively with members of the school community, demonstrate initiative and commitment and work in partnership with our school team to:
- Ensure the good upkeep and security of the school premises, buildings and grounds
- Undertake a range of minor repairs, maintenance and decorating
- Provide a first class service to hirers of our artificial turf pitch and other school facilities
- Work in a flexible manner for the needs of students and the school
The successful candidate will be required to undertake regular training to help them to fulfil their role successfully and to comply with health and safety standards. It is anticipated that the Site Assistant would also be willing to undertake training to drive the school’s minibus.
The role may also include working at heights and some lifting. Previous experience is desirable (building trade or good DIY skills would be an advantage) but training will be provided.
Community lettings of our artificial turf pitch and other facilities are very popular. The successful applicant will be a key contact for our hirers and other community members.
The post is full time, 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. Working hours form part of a rotating shift pattern (including early morning or evening hours) and occasional weekend hours may be required.
What we offer
- A friendly and collaborative working environment with a genuine commitment to staff wellbeing.
- Tailored continuous professional development (CPD)
- Membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS)
