Robert Irving Burns has managed commercial and residential property in central London for over 60 years. We are an independent firm with a loyal client base ranging from private individuals to financial institutions and publicly quoted companies.
We are looking for a Commercial Property Manager to take ownership of an allocated portfolio of commercial and mixed-use properties across central London. This is a full-time, office-based role. You will report to the Associate Director of Property Management and be supported by a dedicated reactive maintenance and facilities team.
Your new Job
You will be responsible for looking after an allocated portfolio of properties consisting of predominantly commercial properties and a selection of mixed-use properties. You will be part of a team of Property Managers assisted by Reactive Maintenance and Facilities Co-Ordinators and will report to the Associate Director of Property Management. This is an exciting role which will allow learning and developing your knowledge and skills.
The role will include:
- Serving as the primary point of contact for clients, tenants, and leaseholders
- Managing all Landlord & Tenant critical dates and events via CRM
- Overseeing rent collection and service charge demands, working with Client Accountants and the Credit Control team
- Preparing annual service charge budgets and assisting with reconciliations
- Co-ordinating reactive maintenance reported through our dedicated reporting portal Fixflo, working with the facilities team through to resolution
- Maintaining accurate PPM and compliance records across Tramps and Fixflo
- Ensuring all properties remain compliant with health and safety legislation
- Managing insurance requirements and renewals across the portfolio
- Overseeing major works projects and managing Section 20 consultation processes
- Conducting regular property inspections and preparing written reports for clients, including review of contractors' works
What you will need
Essential:
- 2–3 years’ experience managing commercial properties
- Working knowledge of landlord and tenant legislation, lease obligations, and service charge processes
- Confident managing client relationships directly and professionally
- Competent in Excel, Word, and Outlook
Desirable:
- RICS or IWFM qualification, or actively working towards one
- Experience with Tramps property management software
- Familiarity with Fixflo or a similar maintenance platform
