Key Responsibilities
- Install fire-resistant materials (e.g. batt, mastic, sealants, cavity barriers) to prevent the spread of fire through walls, floors, and ceilings
- Seal penetrations and joints in fire-rated walls and floors to maintain fire compartmentation
- Interpret and follow technical drawings, blueprints, and firestop system specifications
- Conduct inspections and ensure all work complies with fire safety regulations and FIRAS standards
- Collaborate with site managers, contractors, and safety officers to ensure seamless integration of firestop systems
- Maintain accurate records of materials used and work completed
Required Skills & Qualifications
- FIRAS certification or equivalent (essential for most roles)
- NVQ Level 2 in Passive Fire Protection (preferred)
- 3–5 years of experience in fire stopping or passive fire protection
- Strong understanding of UK fire safety regulations and building codes
- Ability to work from technical drawings and specifications
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety
- CSCS card and clean UK driving licence (often required)
- Must have a IPAF
- Must hold a British Passport
