An excellent opportunity has arisen for two experienced Document Controllers to join an established construction and building services business in London. The successful candidates will be responsible for managing and maintaining project documentation throughout the lifecycle of construction projects, ensuring that drawings, technical information, submissions, correspondence and other project records are accurately controlled, distributed and kept up to date. This is an ideal opportunity for a Document Controller who has previous experience working within the construction, M&E, mechanical, electrical or building services sector and is looking to join an established project team on a permanent basis. Key Responsibilities * Manage the day-to-day document control process across construction projects. * Receive, register, distribute and track project documentation. * Maintain accurate electronic and hard-copy filing systems. * Control the issue and revision of drawings and technical documentation. * Ensure project teams are working from the latest approved information. * Upload and distribute drawings, specifications, technical submissions and other project information. * Monitor document revisions and maintain accurate revision histories. * Liaise with Project Managers, Site Managers, Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, consultants, subcontractors and clients. * Chase outstanding documentation and ensure information is received within agreed timescales. * Carry out document quality checks before information is issued. * Maintain document registers and produce regular reports when required. * Assist project teams with the preparation and collation of O&M manuals and handover documentation. * Ensure documentation is managed in accordance with company and client procedures. * Maintain confidentiality and security of project information. * Support the project team with general administration relating to document control and information management. Requirements The successful candidate will ideally have: * Previous experience working as a Document Controller within the construction industry. * Experience working for a main contractor, M&E contractor, specialist subcontractor or building services company. * Good understanding of construction drawings, specifications, technical submissions and project documentation. * Experience using electronic document management systems. * Experience with platforms such as Aconex, Viewpoint, 4Projects, Asite, Procore, SharePoint or similar would be advantageous. * Excellent organisational and administration skills. * Strong attention to detail and accuracy. * The ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines and priorities. * Good communication skills and the confidence to liaise with project teams, clients and subcontractors. * Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook. * A proactive approach and the ability to work independently as well as part of a wider project team. Desirable Experience Experience within M&E / MEP, mechanical, electrical, HVAC or building services would be particularly advantageous.
