Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled CAD Designer with proven experience in the construction industry to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing precise technical drawings, 2D and 3D models. During quiet periods the candidate will be expected to assist in other areas of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, modify, and maintain 2D and 3D CAD drawings for construction and infrastructure projects.
- Coordinate drawings with input from architects, engineers, and construction teams to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Maintain drawing standards, templates, and file management systems in accordance with company and client requirements.
- Review and revise designs according to markups, redlines, and project feedback.
- Assist in developing as-built drawings and documentation for completed projects.
- Developing the design of the systems from basic hand drawn/CAD sketches provided by the sales engineers, and then seeing the project through from manufacture to finished installation.
- Support the project team with technical input during design, permitting, and construction phases.
- Participate in design coordination meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Qualifications
- Education: CAD Design qualification.
- Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of CAD drafting/design experience in the construction industry.
- Software Proficiency: Expert knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, building systems, and design documentation.
Preferred Attributes
- Experience working with BIM models and digital collaboration platforms would be an advantage.
