As an Approved Electrician, you will be responsible for carrying out 1st fix electrical installations, focusing on the installation of containment systems including conduit, tray, and basket. You will ensure work is completed to a high standard, in compliance with current BS 7671 wiring regulations, site safety standards, and project specifications. Key Responsibilities 1st Fix Installations * Install electrical containment systems in accordance with drawings and site requirements. * Set out and install conduit systems (PVC, steel, or galvanised). * Bend and thread metal conduit accurately using hand or electric benders. * Fix and align trunking, tray, and basket systems using approved fixings and supports. * Pull in and secure cables in containment routes (where applicable to 1st fix). Containment & Structural Works * Read and interpret architectural and electrical drawings. * Accurately mark out positions for containment runs, sockets, switches, and DBs. * Work around other trades and coordinate installations in congested zones. * Use hand and power tools for cutting, fixing, and installing systems. * Maintain correct spacing, support intervals, and allow for cable capacities. Quality, Safety & Compliance * Ensure all installations meet current IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671). * Follow site health and safety procedures and permit-to-work systems. * Use appropriate PPE and safety equipment at all times. * Ensure containment systems are earthed and bonded correctly. * Report defects, site hazards, or deviations to the supervisor immediately. Requirements * ECS Gold Card * NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Installation. * 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671). * Experience working with conduit, tray, trunking, and basket in commercial/industrial settings. * Ability to work from drawings and coordinate with other trades. * Full understanding of containment installation best practices. * IPAF is a plus Working Hours * 7.30am – 4pm * Possible for Overtime
