About the Company:
We are a dynamic and growing building services contractor specialising in mechanical and electrical installations across commercial, healthcare, residential, and industrial sectors. Known for delivering high-quality engineering solutions, we partner with leading developers, consultants, and main contractors across the UK.

As part of our continued growth, we are looking to appoint an Electrical Pre-Construction Manager / Estimator to lead the electrical estimating and early project development process for new and repeat business.

Role Overview:
Reporting to the Pre-Construction Director, the Electrical Pre-Construction Manager / Estimator will play a pivotal role in the tendering process, taking ownership of electrical cost planning, estimating, and bid submissions for a range of projects from £500k to £5m+.

You will liaise closely with internal design, commercial, and project delivery teams, as well as external clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.

Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed electrical estimates and cost plans for design & build and traditional tenders.

Lead the pre-construction electrical scope, ensuring accurate technical and commercial evaluations.

Attend site visits, client meetings, and tender reviews.

Evaluate drawings, specifications, and BOQs to produce competitive bids.

Liaise with supply chain and manufacturers to obtain competitive quotes and technical data.

Contribute to bid submissions and support project handover to operations teams.

Identify value engineering options to provide best-value solutions.

Assist with risk and opportunity assessments on bids.

Requirements:
Proven experience in electrical estimating within the M&E contracting or building services industry.

Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems in commercial and industrial environments.

Able to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and design documents.

Proficient with estimating software (e.g., Trimble, Estimation, or similar) and MS Excel.

Commercially astute, with excellent attention to detail.

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Strong communication and presentation skills.

Desirable:
HNC/HND or degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services.

Familiarity with D&B projects and value engineering.

Experience working with main contractors or Tier 1 M&E contractors.
