We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Mechanical Engineer to join our growing team, supporting newly secured and existing commercial contracts. This includes a major PPM contract with Tameside Council covering approximately 80 buildings within their commercial estate, alongside additional commercial installation projects with key contractors. This is a varied and hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys both independent work and collaborating within a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Surveying HVAC systems including AC units, AHUs, and ductwork
  • Producing detailed reports and populating asset registers
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across commercial sites
  • Servicing and refurbishing HVAC equipment, including AHUs
  • Assisting with HVAC and plumbing installations (primarily commercial, some domestic)
  • Understanding and working with basic control functions of HVAC systems

Requirements

  • Proven experience working with HVAC systems, including AHUs and AC units (essential)
  • F-Gas certification (minimum requirement)
  • NVQ Level 2 in a relevant discipline (minimum requirement)
  • Basic computer skills for reporting and asset management
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable Experience

  • Facilities Management (FM) experience within the commercial sector
  • Experience working on PPM contracts
  • Exposure to commercial fit-out projects
