Working Hours: Summer 8:00am – 5:00pm (Apr–Sep); Winter 8:00am – 6:00pm (Oct–Mar); Out-of-hours escalation rota (evenings/weekends)

About the Role
We are currently recruiting an experienced Contracts Manager to lead our Housing Department, delivering gas, heating and compliance services across social housing contracts in London. This is a senior, client-facing role responsible for the operational performance of multiple local authority and housing association contracts. You will manage field engineers and office teams, ensure compliance, drive KPIs and maintain excellent client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day delivery of housing gas and heating contracts.
- Lead, motivate and performance-manage engineers, supervisors and office staff.
- Act as main point of contact for local authority and housing association clients.
- Attend client meetings, KPI reviews and contract performance sessions.
- Oversee reactive repairs, servicing, breakdowns, CP12s, voids and planned works.
- Ensure all works comply with Gas Safe and Health & Safety regulations.
- Manage complaints, escalations and vulnerable resident cases.
- Monitor KPIs including SLA performance, first-time fix and compliance rates.
- Support mobilisation of new contracts and service improvements.
- Participate in out-of-hours escalation rota.
Essential Experience
- Proven experience as a Contracts Manager / Operations Manager within social housing, gas or heating services.
- Strong knowledge of local authority or housing association contract delivery.
- Experience managing mobile engineering teams.
- Excellent stakeholder and client management skills.
- Strong understanding of Gas Safe and compliance requirements.
- Highly organised with experience working in fast-paced environments.
Desirable
- Experience using job management systems (e.g. BigChange, Service Management platforms).
- Technical background in gas/heating or domestic compliance.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and resident engagement.
