We are currently looking for experienced Approved Electricians to work on water utility and water treatment projects. The successful candidates will have a strong background in electrical installation and maintenance, with previous experience working on water treatment plants, sewage treatment works, pumping stations or other water utility sites. This role would suit electricians who are comfortable working in an industrial environment and understand the additional health, safety and site requirements associated with water utility projects.
Essential Requirements
- Approved Electrician with a valid ECS Gold Card
- Relevant Level 3 electrical qualification / recognised industry qualification
- Current BS7671 Wiring Regulations qualification
- Previous experience working on water utility or water treatment sites - essential
- Experience working within an industrial environment
- Good understanding of electrical installation, maintenance and fault finding
- Able to read and work from electrical drawings and schematics
- Experience installing and terminating electrical containment, cabling and equipment
- Good understanding of safe isolation and electrical safety procedures
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider site team
- Good communication skills
- Reliable and professional approach to work
- Must be able to provide relevant qualifications and ECS card details

Duties & Responsibilities
- Carrying out electrical installation and maintenance works across water utility sites
- Installation and termination of electrical cabling
- Installation of containment and associated electrical equipment
- Working on LV electrical systems
- Installation and connection of motors, pumps and associated equipment
- Working from electrical drawings and schematics
- Testing and fault finding where required
- Carrying out work in accordance with site RAMS and permit-to-work procedures
- Maintaining a high standard of health and safety at all times
- Working alongside other electrical, mechanical and site personnel
- Ensuring work is completed to the required quality and project standards
Site Requirements
Candidates must be comfortable working within a live water utility environment and complying with site-specific health and safety procedures, including inductions, permits and safe systems of work. Previous water utility experience is essential for this position.

- ECS Gold Card - Approved Electrician
- Level 3 Electrical Qualification / recognised industry competency qualification

- ECS Health, Safety & Environmental requirements
- Additional water-industry/site qualifications where applicable
- IPAF / PASMA / confined-space / water-industry specific training would be advantageous where relevant to the project
