Air Conditioning Installation & Service Engineer Location

Midlands or Newport (with travel and occasional overnight stays required)

Salary

£38,000 - £47,000 per year (depending on experience)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Air Conditioning Engineer to carry out a mix of installation, maintenance, and servicing works across commercial sites. This role involves travel and participation in an on-call rota.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on air conditioning systems, including split systems, VRV/VRF, and chillers
  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs to ensure optimal system performance
  • Install air conditioning systems, from split units through to VRF systems
  • Assist with AHU and chiller installations (desirable)
  • Respond to client callouts within agreed SLAs
  • Maintain compliance with health & safety standards and site-specific requirements
  • Liaise with clients and internal teams to ensure smooth service delivery
  • Produce accurate technical and service reports
  • Identify and quote for additional works where required
  • Participate in a 24-hour call-out rota (standby rota applies)
Skills & Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (or equivalent)
  • F-Gas Certification (Category 1 / 2079)
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in air conditioning installation and service
  • Strong experience working on commercial HVAC systems
  • Good knowledge of building regulations and HVAC standards
  • Familiar with health & safety practices (risk assessments, COSHH, etc.)
  • Full UK Driving Licence
