We are seeking Electrical Mates to assist qualified Electricians with cable pulling and installation works on a large industrial construction site. This role involves working as part of a team to install heavy-duty power, control, and instrumentation cables in accordance with site requirements and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Electricians with pulling, feeding, and routing electrical cables through trays, conduits, trenches, and containment systems.
- Use pulling equipment such as rope, winches, rollers, and cable socks.
- Support installation of LV/MV cables, including terminating preparation (stripping, dressing, and identifying).
- Maintain correct cable bend radius, tension, and handling procedures.
- Help with the installation of cable tray, ladder rack, and conduit systems when required.
- Keep work areas clean, safe, and organised.
- Follow instructions from supervisors and ensure tasks are carried out efficiently.
- Assist in testing, continuity checks, and labelling under supervision.
- Comply with all site safety rules, permits, and PPE requirements.
- Report any hazards, incidents, or issues immediately.
Required Skills & Experience
- Previous experience as an Electrical Mate / Trade Assistant on industrial or commercial sites.
- Strong understanding of safe cable handling and pulling techniques.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding role (lifting, pulling, climbing ladders, working in confined spaces).
- Experience using basic electrical tools and equipment.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
Qualifications
- ECS / CSCS / OSHA / White Card / Site Safety card (depending on country).
- Manual Handling certification (preferred).
- Confined Space / MEWP / Working at Heights (advantage but not essential).
Personal Attributes
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to learn and support qualified Electricians.
