Interim International Payroll Specialist £280 per day (Umbrella) | 6 Month Initial Contract | Fully Remote (UK Based)
An international organisation is seeking an experienced International Payroll Specialist to join its Global Payroll team on an interim basis.
This hands-on role supports end-to-end payroll across Egypt, the Netherlands, Spain, the United States and Canada, with additional regions including the UK potentially being added.
The business is undergoing a significant payroll systems and provider transition, so you'll play a key role in both business-as-usual payroll delivery and transformation projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Process end-to-end payroll across multiple international countries.
- Validate new starter, leaver and employee change data from HR.
- Review payroll data for accuracy and completeness before each pay cycle.
- Collect commission, bonus and other variable pay information.
- Prepare, validate and quality-check payroll input files.
- Manage payroll approvals and submit payroll to external providers.
- Liaise with payroll providers to resolve queries and ensure timely processing.
- Review payroll registers and correct discrepancies.
- Complete payroll reconciliations and investigate variances.
- Maintain payroll audit trails, approvals and supporting documentation.
- Support payroll funding requirements with Finance.
- Produce post-payroll reports and maintain accurate payroll records.
- Act as the first point of contact for employee payroll queries.
- Resolve enquiries from HR, Finance, managers and third-party providers.
- Investigate payroll errors, deductions and off-cycle adjustments.
- Maintain a payroll query tracker and identify recurring issues.
- Provide payroll cover across different countries within the team.
