This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Java Developer with strong JVM knowledge to join a growing engineering team and take on a genuine technical challenge.
You will work on high-performance, scalable systems while contributing to the continued development of the company's technology platform.
The successful candidate will be technically strong, commercially aware and motivated by the opportunity to work within a fast-paced scale-up environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESDesign, develop and maintain high-performance Java applications.
Work extensively with the JVM and contribute to application performance and scalability.
Develop and optimise distributed, highly available systems. Investigate and resolve complex technical and performance issues.
Contribute to system architecture and technical design decisions.
Write clean, maintainable and robust production-quality code.
Work closely with other engineers, product teams and technical stakeholders.
Contribute to engineering standards, best practices and continuous improvement.
Support the evolution and scaling of the technology platform as the business grows. KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEStrong commercial Java development experience.
Strong understanding of the JVM and Java runtime environment. Experience developing high-performance or distributed systems. Strong understanding of concurrency, memory management and application performance. Experience with modern software development practices and CI/CD.Strong understanding of software architecture and design principles.
Financial Services experience is highly desirable.
Experience working within a high-growth or scale-up environment would be advantageous.
