Robert Half is partnering with an exciting business leading in trade of physical commodities for a Trade Support Assistant to join the team in London.
The role:
A Junior Trade Support Assistant is needed to assist a trading team specialising in physical commodities (cocoa, sugar, coffee etc), specifically in the East African region. The role involves supporting trade activities, client relationships, reporting, and risk mitigation under the guidance of traders.
Responsibilities:
- Input and manage contracts
- Reconcile trade data with internal systems
- Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations
- Maintain and update trade positions, stock levels, and client interactions
- Report on trading positions
- Provide administrative support to the front office
- Suggest improvements to procedures
- Maintain physical cover sheets monthly
Skills & Experience:
- Degree in business or related field, or equivalent experience (A-levels)
- At least 1 year of experience in trade, finance, or business-related roles
- Knowledge of commodities and market/FX practices
- Strong Excel and numeracy skills, with attention to detail
