Our client is seeking an experienced Temporary Senior Finance Manager to join their Cardiff team and provide critical support during a period of transition. This key role will help steer the business through the upcoming budgeting cycle and support the wider finance function while recruitment is underway for a permanent Financial Controller.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and coordinate the annual budgeting process, collaborating with business units to develop robust and realistic financial plans.
  • Deliver accurate, insightful financial analysis to support and validate budget assumptions.
  • Provide commentary and variance analysis, detailing key changes and evolution of budgets compared to prior periods.
  • Support Board-level reporting, preparing clear and concise financial narratives and responding to ad hoc reporting requests from senior leadership.
  • Offer hands-on support and guidance to the Accounts Executive during day-to-day operations.
  • Serve as a bridge during the transition, ensuring continuity of financial processes and oversight until the new Financial Controller is in place.
What We're Looking For:
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a solid track record in senior finance roles.
  • Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial data clearly and effectively to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Experience working within a regulated industry is desirable.
  • Confident working autonomously and proactively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Previous interim experience and familiarity with transitional support roles is highly desirable.
  • Comfortable with hybrid/remote working, with the ability to initially attend the Cardiff office 2-3 days per week.
