We're recruiting on behalf of a prominent UK-based engineering and infrastructure organisation, currently seeking a Technical Accounting and Governance Manager to strengthen its finance function. With a strong commitment to financial integrity and operational excellence, the business offers the chance to take ownership of technical accounting processes and internal control frameworks that directly support high-profile national projects. This hybrid opportunity is based at either the Bristol or Plymouth office, with a working pattern of two days per week on-site. The salary for this role is £65,000-£70,000, plus a bonus of up to 10%.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a lead adviser on technical accounting and play a pivotal role in strengthening governance and financial control across the organisation.
  • Be the primary coordinator for both external and internal audit processes within the finance team.
  • Draft and review technical accounting position papers in collaboration with the Financial Controller.
  • Prepare key governance documents, including half-year/year-end control summaries and letters of representation.
  • Ensure contract governance and adherence to internal compliance standards for commercial agreements.
  • Collaborate with the FP&A team to provide technical insight and strategic finance support.
