Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Tax Accountant to manage and support all aspects of our tax compliance and reporting obligations. The role primarily involves the preparation and filing of VAT returns, assisting with the year-end tax disclosure process, and ensuring timely submission of annual tax returns. This position requires strong knowledge of relevant tax regulations, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- VAT Compliance:
- Prepare, review, and submit VAT returns in compliance with local tax laws and deadlines.
- Reconcile VAT accounts and investigate variances or anomalies.
- Monitor changes in VAT legislation and advise the business on implications.
- Plastic tax compliance
- Prepare, review and submit plastic tax returns
- Monitoring changes in Plastic tax law
- Year-End Tax Disclosure:
- Support the preparation of the year-end tax disclosure in accordance with relevant IFRS accounting standards
- Collaborate with the finance team and external auditors during year-end close and audits.
- Ensure appropriate documentation and reconciliation of tax and deferred tax balances.
- Liaise with external tax advisors in the process of corporate tax returns preparation.
- Maintain accurate and complete tax records and supporting documentation.
- Assist with tax audits, assessments, and inquiries from tax authorities.
- Support transfer pricing documentation and other compliance requirements.
- Contribute to process improvements and automation of tax processes where applicable.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor\’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CTA, CPA) is preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in a tax accounting or compliance role.
- Solid understanding of VAT regulations and corporate tax principles.
- Experience with tax reporting software and ERP systems (preferably D365)
- Strong Excel and analytical skills.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
Desirable Attributes:
- Experience in a multinational or large corporate environment.
- Familiarity with international tax regulations and cross-border VAT issues.
- Proactive approach to learning and process improvement.
