Robert Half have partnered with a global consultancy firm to recruit for an experienced Systems Engineer (VMware Cloud Foundation) to support a large-scale VMware Cloud 9 deployment for a global financial services client. This role will focus on VCF enablement, automation, operations, and platform adoption, ensuring the environment is production-ready and aligned with enterprise standards.
Responsibilities:
- Engineer, deploy, and support VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) infrastructure
- Support VCF enablement and adoption, including platform readiness and optimisation
- Design, build, and maintain automation workflows and integrations
- Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and operational tooling
- Support VMware Cloud 9 deployment and lifecycle management
- Collaborate with architects and operations teams to implement best practices
- Troubleshoot complex platform, automation, and operational issues
- Contribute to documentation, knowledge transfer, and operational handover
Experience:
- Strong hands-on experience with VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) or VMware full stack
- Deep experience with VMware Aria Automation (vRA 8.x) and VMware Orchestrator
- Strong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell
- Experience with VMware Aria Operations and Aria Operations for Logs
- Solid understanding of REST APIs and system integrations
- Experience operating VMware platforms in enterprise environments
- Ansible and Python experience
- Knowledge of VCF Automation (VCFA)
- Broad VMware full-stack knowledge (vSphere, NSX, vSAN)
- Financial services or highly regulated industry experience
