Robert Half is recruiting for a Practice Manager for our Accountancy Audit client in Hertfordshire. The position of Practice Manager will be an all-encompassing position, with the following key requirements:
Role Overview
- Type: Full-time, onsite (35 hours per week, Monday to Friday)
Core Purpose: Ensure smooth day-to-day operations, coordinate workflows, manage compliance, and support business growth alongside the Partners.Key Responsibilities
- Operations & Client Services: Manage daily office activities, allocate team workloads, answer enquiries, and improve internal processes.
- Deadline Tracking: Monitor critical deliverables including accounts, tax returns, VAT, and payroll.
- Compliance & IT: Oversee practice compliance, coordinate with external IT providers, and manage facilities and office suppliers.
- Finance Support: Assist Partners with monitoring profitability, budgeting, billing, and chasing overdue client accounts.
- Team & HR: Support recruitment, onboarding, and staff development while collaborating with an external HR consultant.
- Marketing & Events: Assist with promotional activities and help organise internal and external events.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Professional Background: Prior experience as a Practice Manager or Office Manager within a professional services environment (ideally accountancy).
- Leadership: Proven experience managing or coordinating a team.
- Organisation: Strong multi-tasking skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines and maintain high attention to detail.
- Tech Literacy: Comfortable using Microsoft Office and accounting practice management software.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on high-quality client service and strict confidentiality.
