An established and growing automotive business is looking to appoint a Financial Accountant to take ownership of the finance function within a standalone environment.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, this is a hands-on role responsible for month-end processes, financial reporting, and maintaining strong financial controls across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ownership of month-end and management accounts
  • Preparation of P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting
  • General ledger reconciliations and journal postings
  • Oversight of AP and AR processes
  • VAT returns and HMRC compliance
  • Liaising with outsourced payroll and external accountants
  • Supporting year-end audit and statutory accounts

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience within an SME or standalone finance role
  • Strong Excel and accounting systems knowledge
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central/Navision advantageous
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • AAT qualified or studying towards an accounting qualification desirable
