We are seeking a detail-oriented Revenue Recognition professional to support accurate and compliant revenue accounting in line with applicable accounting standards (IFRS 15 / UK GAAP). The role will work closely with Finance, Sales, Commercial, and Billing teams to ensure revenue is recognised correctly, on time, and supported by robust controls. This position is based in Solihull with a hybrid working arrangement, offering a mix of office-based collaboration and remote flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Review customer contracts to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment in line with IFRS 15
- Prepare and post revenue-related journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
- Ensure revenue is recognised accurately and in the correct accounting period
- Support month-end and year-end close processes relating to revenue
- Reconcile revenue accounts and investigate variances
- Maintain revenue recognition schedules and supporting documentation
- Partner with Commercial, Sales, and Operations teams to resolve revenue queries
- Support internal and external audits by providing revenue-related analysis and documentation
- Assist with process improvements, controls, and system enhancements relating to revenue
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external accounting standards
Skills & Experience
- Experience in a revenue recognition, financial accounting, or similar finance role
- Good understanding of IFRS 15 and/or UK GAAP revenue principles
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Ability to interpret contracts and commercial terms
- Comfortable working with finance systems and Excel
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
- Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
