The role
- Provide practical, business-focused legal advice on commercial, technology, product, procurement, IP, regulatory and general business issues.
- Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of complex agreements, including Saa S, software, licensing, outsourcing, supplier, customer, confidentiality and data protection contracts.
- Support international operations on commercial legal matters, disputes, claims and external counsel management as needed.
- Identify legal and commercial risks and recommend pragmatic solutions that support business goals while managing exposure.
- Act as Global Privacy Officer, leading the company’s global privacy and data protection framework across UK, EU and other international jurisdictions.
- Strengthen the broader legal function through privacy policies, training, reporting, legal process improvements etc
- The requirements
- England and Wales qualified solicitor
- Experience with technology, software, information services or other regulated business.
- Strong commercial legal experience, including independently drafting and negotiating complex technology, Saa S, licensing, outsourcing, customer and supplier agreements.
- Substantive privacy and data protection expertise, including strong knowledge of UK GDPR and EU GDPR and experience advising on privacy matters in a multinational environment.
- Experience leading or having significant responsibility for an organization's privacy program, including DPIAs, privacy incidents, data subject rights, international data transfers, privacy contracting and privacy-by-design.
- Experience acting as a Privacy Officer or DPO, or otherwise having significant responsibility for an enterprise privacy program, is strongly preferred.
