Purpose of the Role

To lead and develop People & Culture activities, ensuring:

  • Consistency and fairness across the organisation

Key Responsibilities

People Strategy & Culture

  • Implement the organisation's People Strategy.
  • Embed values and culture across all business areas.
  • Lead change management initiatives.
  • Provide timely reporting and insights to senior leadership.
  • Drive engagement and retention initiatives.

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Manage recruitment processes across the organisation.
  • Support workforce planning and talent pipeline development.
  • Oversee onboarding, contracts and compliance documentation.

Employee Relations & Compliance

  • Support with ER cases and issues.
  • Lead complex cases with appropriate support.
  • Ensure compliance with employment law and best practice.
  • Maintain and proactively review HR policies and procedures.
  • Conduct exit interviews and monitor retention trends.

HR Operations & Systems

  • Maintain accurate employee records and payroll changes.
  • Review payroll for accuracy.
  • Monitor sickness absence and performance data.
  • Lead digitisation and continuous improvement of HR systems.
  • Ensure GDPR compliance across people processes.

Engagement & Communication

  • Lead internal staff communications.
  • Organise employee events and engagement initiatives.
  • Champion wellbeing and employee support programmes.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years' experience within an HR / People function.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law.
  • Experience managing disciplinary and grievance processes.
  • CIPD qualified (or equivalent).
  • Experience in hospitality, estates, multi-site or SME environments advantageous.
