The role involves:
- Identifying requirements, preparing and negotiating contracts, performing legal due diligence and research, advising management, and ensuring ongoing compliance with the company's responsibilities for monitoring, reporting and meeting contractual, statutory and legal obligations in customer engagements.
- Providing legal counsel, coordinating and managing other legal activities relating to a variety of business corporate or risk management functions/issues as they arise.
- Reviewing, negotiating, and/or drafting business agreements/contracts relating to a wide variety of general business and/or regulatory issues to the best advantage of the company.
- Identifying and mitigating risks associated with various business practices and operations.
- Reviewing statutes, regulations and company contracts and providing advice on resolving legal, business and/or regulatory issues.
- Supervising, coordinating or directing projects and/or legal staff as assigned.
- Providing legal review, analysis, and advice to business partners/functional areas as assigned, as well as providing legal review, analysis, and counsel relating to contract negotiation and drafting related agreements.
- Providing assistance to and managing the work activities of other legal staff, as may be assigned.
- Providing regular written reports and ad hoc verbal reporting to Senior Corporate Counsel and to Head of Legal in relation to own responsibilities.
