People Manager Location: Swindon Contract: Permanent Full-time Fully office-based, with occasional travel to other local sites Robert Half are working with a purpose-led organisation that is looking to appoint a People Manager to play a key role in developing its people strategy, organisational capability and culture. This is a broad and varied role, covering both strategic people initiatives and hands-on HR delivery. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership and managers across the organisation, providing trusted advice and helping to ensure the organisation has the people, culture and capability needed to achieve its objectives. The role would suit an experienced HR professional looking to move into a purpose-led organisation, or a strong HR generalist ready to take their first step into a management role. You will take ownership of a broad people remit, balancing day-to-day HR delivery with longer-term organisational development. Supporting organisational change, culture development and continuous improvement. Leading recruitment and retention initiatives to attract and retain high-quality employees. Developing learning and development programmes and supporting management capability. Establishing effective talent management and succession planning processes. Providing practical advice and guidance on employee relations, including disciplinary, grievance and performance matters. Ensuring HR processes and practices are legally compliant, consistent and effective. Supporting organisational design and wider change programmes. Advising and supporting senior leaders and managers on people-related matters. Reviewing and developing HR policies, processes and systems. Using people data and insight to support effective decision-making. Managing relevant HR budgets and ensuring value for money. We're looking for a capable and commercially minded HR professional who is comfortable operating across the full employee lifecycle. You may be an experienced HR Manager, HR Business Partner, Senior HR Adviser or HR generalist looking for the next step in your career. Broad HR generalist experience across areas such as employee relations, recruitment, performance, learning and development and organisational development. Experience of supporting organisational change and improving people processes. A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach to HR. The confidence to take ownership of a broad HR remit. Relevant HR qualifications and/or CIPD membership would be advantageous. An experienced HR professional looking to move away from a purely commercial environment and use their skills within an organisation with a strong sense of purpose. A strong HR generalist who has built solid experience across the employee lifecycle and is now ready to take their first formal management or leadership step.
