My client requires a Reporting Accountant for a period of 6 months. This is a varied role working for a business that truly values its employees. Ideally the candidate would have experience working in the tech sector but this is not essential.

Job Accountabilities/Targets:

  • Production of monthly management accounts and financial commentary each month on time and reporting results to the management team.
  • Work with the Billing team to improve the financial reporting in preparation for the monthly Management Accounts.
  • Manage and pay the VAT returns as per HMRC requirements.
  • Manage and pay the P11D and PAYE process as per HMRC requirements.
  • Responsible for accruals and prepayments.
  • Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations and explain any significant movements.
  • Assist and work with the external auditors as and when required.
  • Review financial data and prepare weekly, monthly and annual reports.
  • Ensure financial controls, processes and risks are followed in accordance with those set.
  • Identify potential process and control weaknesses with recommended solutions.
  • Work with FP&A analyst to provide commentary around customer and product profitability.
  • Review of projects against budget to ensure billing and classification accuracy.

What you will need to be successful:

  • Newly qualified ACCA, ACA or CIMA (a strong part qualified candidate will be considered).
  • Technology sector experience is highly desirable.
  • Practice background with a blend of accounting experience advantageous.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel (Pivot, vlookup, sumif etc).
  • A working knowledge of PowerBI is advantageous.
  • Proactive & organised with a good attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal English.
