This is a fixed-term opportunity for a Management Accountant to support the finance function during a period of cover. The role focuses on delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong financial controls, and providing commercial analysis to support operational and management decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of timely and accurate monthly management accounts and financial reports across multiple revenue streams.
- Profitability and margin analysis by project, client, and sales channel, providing commercial insight to support decision-making.
- Ownership of month-end processes, including journals, accruals, prepayments, adjustments, and balance sheet reconciliations (including intercompany).
- Preparation and submission of VAT and sales tax returns (UK, EU, and US), ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Support with third-party reporting and contractual financial obligations where required.
- Business partnering with operational teams to support inventory management, operational planning, and commercial activity.
- Assistance with external audits and maintenance of appropriate financial controls.
- Ad hoc financial analysis and support for ongoing finance projects.
What We're Looking For
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) with management accounting experience, ideally within an SME.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge with hands-on experience using accounting systems.
- Commercially minded with the ability to translate financial data into clear insights for non-finance stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Confident communicator with a proactive, hands-on approach.
