Job Title: Interim Power BI Specialist – Finance Dashboards
Contract Type: Daily Rate Contract (Outside IR35)
Duration: 4-5 Months
Location: South West (1-2 Days per Week On-Site)

Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Power BI Specialist to join on an interim basis and lead the development of finance-focused dashboards. This role is critical to bridging the gap between the BI and finance teams, enabling better visibility and control over financial data through effective reporting solutions.
The successful candidate will be responsible for extracting and transforming data from a complex, unstructured data warehouse and building a consolidated dashboard that supports financial decision-making
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and build of a Power BI dashboard using data from multiple practice systems housed in a central data warehouse.
- Collaborate closely with the BI and finance teams to understand data structures, define use cases, and ensure reporting meets business needs.
- Clean, structure, and consolidate financial data including revenue, hours worked, and journal entries.
- Support the automation of journal postings from practice systems into accounting platforms.
- Conduct peer reviews and implement controls to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
- Provide clear documentation and handover to internal stakeholders for long-term ownership.
- Work on-site 1-2 days per week to engage with key stakeholders and define requirements.
Requirements
- Proven experience in Power BI dashboard development, specifically using data sourced from data warehouses.
- Strong understanding of data structures, tables, and financial reporting.
- Ability to work independently and take full ownership of the project.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise between technical and non-technical teams.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with limited initial structure.
- Experience in finance or accounting environments is highly desirable.
