I'm working with a long-established, owner-led manufacturing and joinery business to recruit a hands-on Finance Manager who will take full ownership of the finance function across three entities. This is a key, standalone role where you'll work closely with the owner, playing a vital part in supporting day-to-day operations while ensuring the smooth running of all finance activity across the group.
The Opportunity
This is a broad, end-to-end role suited to someone who enjoys autonomy and responsibility. You'll be the go-to person for finance, managing everything from transactional activity through to year-end.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparation of year-end accounts across three businesses
- Full ownership of purchase & sales ledger (Sage 50)
- Managing intercompany transactions
- Producing trial balance and management-level accounts
- Liaising with Lloyds Finance and factoring providers
- Running payroll, including HMRC and NIC submissions
- Managing pensions administration
- Preparing and submitting quarterly VAT returns
- Overseeing monthly invoicing and VAT processes
- Handling holiday pay calculations
- Supporting with wider operational and administrative tasks
What We're Looking For
- Strong all-round accounting experience, ideally within an SME or owner-managed business
- Confident user of Sage 50
- Comfortable operating in a standalone role with full ownership
- Organised, reliable, and proactive - someone who naturally takes the lead
