Robert Half are delighted to be partnering with a well-established organisation based in Kidlington to recruit a permanent Bookkeeper. This position offers a varied workload across accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, VAT compliance and wider financial support. You will join a lovely, experienced team and benefit from flexible working hours while being based onsite.
The Role
- Salary: £30,000 - £35,000
- Working pattern: Open to full-time or part-time (4 days per week)
- Flexible working hours
- Onsite role - potential to work from home one day per week following training & onboarding.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
- Handle general bookkeeping duties and maintain accurate financial records
- Prepare and submit VAT returns, including partial exemption reconciliations
- Complete bank reconciliations
- Process bank payments and support cash management activities
- Assist with year-end duties (experience desirable but not essential)
- Provide support with a small element of payroll where required
- Support ad-hoc finance tasks as needed
Your Profile
- Strong bookkeeping experience with solid AP and AR knowledge
- Experience preparing VAT returns; partial exemption experience highly beneficial
- Confident performing bank reconciliations and managing bank payments
- Experience with monthly reconciliations (utilities, balance sheet items, etc.)
- Some payroll exposure or willingness to support small payroll tasks
- High attention to detail, excellent organisation, and ability to work independently
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach
- Year-end experience desirable but not essential
