Job Description Robert Half is partnering with a successful and growing international manufacturing and engineering group to recruit a qualified FP&A Accountant into its expanding finance function. The business operates across multiple international markets and has a broad commercial and operational footprint, with Finance working closely with Sales, Operations and Procurement. This newly created role offers the opportunity to join an organisation at an important stage of its development, with genuine scope to improve how financial performance is forecast, reported and understood across the business. Reporting into the Financial Controller, you'll play a key role in shaping how the business understands and manages its financial performance. You'll take ownership of the budgeting and forecasting cycle, develop and improve FP&A processes, and ensure senior stakeholders have accurate, timely and meaningful financial information to support decision-making. You'll have visibility across a broad operational and commercial environment, working with senior stakeholders to understand performance, challenge assumptions and identify opportunities to improve profitability and business performance. Owning the annual budgeting process and supporting ongoing financial planning. Analysing P&L performance, investigating significant variances and challenging stakeholders where required. Identifying trends, risks and opportunities and recommending appropriate corrective actions. Monitoring capital expenditure and supporting investment decisions and business cases. Ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial data across ERP and reporting systems. Producing high-quality management reporting and ensuring consistent financial information is used across the business. Developing and improving reporting packs, processes and tools to make financial insight more accessible and useful. Manipulating and analysing financial data to identify trends, anomalies and performance drivers. Helping establish a more consistent and effective approach to FP&A across the business. We're looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with strong experience across FP&A, commercial finance or finance business partnering. 5+ years' experience in FP&A or a commercially focused finance role. ~ Strong ownership of budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis. ~ Proven experience improving or developing financial processes, reporting or forecasting approaches. ~ Strong data manipulation and analytical skills, with the ability to turn financial data into clear commercial insight. ~ Advanced Excel skills and strong financial modelling capability. ~ Experience working with ERP and financial reporting systems. ~ Experience with Power BI or other financial reporting/BI tools would be advantageous. ~ The confidence to challenge senior stakeholders and explain financial information clearly to non-finance teams. ~ You'll have genuine ownership of the budgeting and forecasting cycle, regular interaction with senior stakeholders and the opportunity to influence decisions across the commercial and operational sides of the business. You'll also have the opportunity to improve reporting processes, strengthen the quality of financial data and help establish a more consistent approach to financial insight across the organisation. The business offers hybrid working, with the flexibility to work from home 1-2 days per week.
