Senior Legal Counsel for a Financial Services firm based in South West London (Hybrid working).
The role includes:
- Reviewing, drafting and negotiating documentation.
- Transaction and deal support in conjunction with Risk/Credit and other business departments.
- Identifying, assessing and mitigating legal, ethical and reputational risks, ensuring that decisions align with the approach to risk.
- Assisting business teams in understanding the legal implications of their activities and empowering them to manage risks effectively.
- Supporting in navigating new legal and regulatory developments.
- Developing and maintaining legal resources, including templates and guidance documents, to improve efficiency and support the wider business.
- Managing relationships with external legal counsel, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality support when specialist advice is required, acting as the first point of contact on externally instructed files and taking account of budget requirements and Legal panel guidelines.
