Senior Legal Counsel for a Financial Services firm based in South West London (Hybrid working).

The role includes:

  • Reviewing, drafting and negotiating documentation.
  • Transaction and deal support in conjunction with Risk/Credit and other business departments.
  • Identifying, assessing and mitigating legal, ethical and reputational risks, ensuring that decisions align with the approach to risk.
  • Assisting business teams in understanding the legal implications of their activities and empowering them to manage risks effectively.
  • Supporting in navigating new legal and regulatory developments.
  • Developing and maintaining legal resources, including templates and guidance documents, to improve efficiency and support the wider business.
  • Managing relationships with external legal counsel, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality support when specialist advice is required, acting as the first point of contact on externally instructed files and taking account of budget requirements and Legal panel guidelines.
  • Supporting senior management in relation to regulatory issues, queries and investigations.
  • Managing litigation/disputes/complaints.
  • Supporting reporting obligations and committees including legal risk reporting.

Requirements:

  • Qualified solicitor.
