Robert Half is partnering with a Biotech consultancy business based in central London in search of a new HR Assistant.

Salary: £30,000 - £34,000 p/a
Permanent, Full-time

The Role:

As an HR Assistant, you will provide day-to-day administrative support across the employee lifecycle, working closely with colleagues across the business and supporting the wider HR team. You will help ensure our HR processes run smoothly, our employee records remain accurate and up to date, and our people receive a professional and responsive HR service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support internal projects and initiatives that maintain and improve employee productivity, efficiency and engagement.
  • Support the Head of HR & Operations in implementing effective performance management processes.
  • Support the effective delivery of the engagement calendar, including the organisation of awareness days.
  • Participate in DE&I initiatives by supporting the Head of HR & Operations with advice, planning and event coordination.
  • Lead and support the onboarding experience for new starters, including obtaining references, coordinating required legal documentation and maintaining accurate records.
  • Lead and support the offboarding process in partnership with HR.
  • Contribute to and maintain the employee handbook, policies and procedures, ensuring they remain compliant and reflect the company culture.
  • Assist line managers with general HR policy queries.
  • Own and improve the user experience of Employment Hero, supporting effective adoption and use across the business.
  • Work in partnership with the Head of HR & Operations to help shape and deliver the HR agenda, ensuring it meets current business needs while remaining forward-focused.
  • Develop and implement annual training activities, including the formal Learning & Development Plan, onboarding and mandatory legal training, with support from the Head of HR & Operations.

Recruitment:

  • Support recruitment activity, including candidate screening, shortlisting, interview coordination, communication with candidates and hiring managers, and preparation of relevant documentation.
  • Participate in first-stage interviews, supporting candidate assessment and decision communication.
  • Track and report on recruitment metrics.
  • Support the development of relationships with leading universities to promote the company brand with key institutions.
  • Support the company Masterclass, external training workshops and other ad hoc events, including associated administrative coordination.

General Administration:

  • Provide high-level general administrative support to internal teams, including the Core Services Team.
  • Support the Core Services Team with a range of administrative tasks.
  • Support the review and maintenance of policies and procedures.
  • Create surveys and gather feedback from employees.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in an HR, People, recruitment or administrative role.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • A proactive and positive approach to problem-solving.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
  • An interest in developing a career within HR/People.
  • CIPD study or membership would be advantageous but is not essential.
