The Company
My client is a leading, multi-site manufacturing and engineering group specialising in high-precision components for the global aerospace sector. Operating across four key UK sites, the business is currently restructuring into a unified executive leadership team to drive cohesive group performance. Following this transformation, they are looking to hire a sharp, commercially minded Financial Controller & FP&A Manager to sit between central leadership and local operational teams.

The Role
Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a high-visibility, dual-focused role combining strategic financial planning with core governance and control. Managing a Management Accountant, you will act as a key commercial partner to the CEO, Board, and divisional leadership teams, helping turn complex operational data into actionable strategy.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Owning the group-wide budgeting, forecasting, and five-year planning cycles while establishing standardised KPIs across all business units.
  • Working closely with local site leads and finance heads to challenge assumptions, review profitability, and drive cash generation.
  • Managing the end-to-end audit process across multiple legal entities, alongside oversight for tax compliance, insurance, and risk management.
  • Preparing executive and board packs that explain the commercial drivers behind performance, risks, and strategic growth opportunities.
  • Leading initiatives to automate reporting, streamline data collection, and upgrade existing finance processes.

Your Profile
The client is looking for a qualified accountant with a strong track record in operational, multi-site businesses who can comfortably handle both granular detail and big-picture strategy.

Essential requirements:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Direct experience within manufacturing, engineering, or complex multi-site operational environments.
  • A strong mix of FP&A, business partnering, and core financial control, including experience coordinating multi-entity external audits.
  • Advanced Excel capability and financial modelling experience, with exposure to BI tools and automated reporting systems.
  • Confident communication skills with the gravitas to challenge operational leaders and advise board-level executives.

Salary & Benefits
Salary: 80,000 - 100,000 depending on experience.
Working Model: Hybrid model with 2-3 days a week in the Central London office, plus occasional travel to operating sites in Belfast, the Isle of Man, and the North West (approx. 1-2 times per month with overnight expenses fully covered).
Benefits: Full corporate benefits package, performance-related bonus scheme, and a clear path for senior exposure across a well-backed industrial group.
