Robert Half is delighted to be partnering with a highly recognisable Leeds-based business in the search for a Head of Commercial Finance. This opportunity has arisen due to an internal promotion, reflecting the strength of the organisation and the career development on offer.

This is a high-profile leadership role, based in Leeds city centre, with responsibility for leading the commercial finance function and delivering the insight, analysis and financial information needed to support better strategic decision-making across the business.

The successful candidate will play a key role in driving commercial performance through the ownership of budgets, forecasting, reporting and business partnering, while also leading the team responsible for collating and producing this critical information.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the commercial finance function, ensuring delivery of high-quality insight and analysis
  • Owning the budgeting and forecasting processes across the business
  • Providing meaningful financial information to support strategic and operational decision-making
  • Acting as a true business partner to senior stakeholders across the organisation
  • Leading, developing and mentoring the team responsible for commercial finance reporting and analysis
  • Driving continuous improvement in reporting, planning and performance management processes
  • Supporting the business in identifying risks, opportunities and areas for improved commercial performance

About you:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Extensive commercial finance experience gained in a large or complex environment
  • Proven track record of budgeting, forecasting and high-level business partnering
  • Strong leadership experience, with the ability to manage and develop high-performing teams
  • Excellent communication skills, with the credibility to influence senior stakeholders
  • Commercially astute, analytical and focused on adding value through finance
