Finance Business Analyst

Inside IR35 - £450/day Umbrella (negotiable for the right skills)

Leeds - 2 days per week in the office

We are supporting a large UK organisation undergoing a significant finance data and reporting transformation and are seeking an experienced Finance Business Analyst to join the programme.

The role will focus on gathering, analysing, and refining requirements for finance reporting and accounting data solutions.

Working closely with Finance stakeholders and a cross-functional delivery team, you will help shape scalable, insight-driven solutions that improve reporting capability and support better decision-making across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyse, and document business requirements across Finance and Accounting functions.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to define reporting, dashboard, and data requirements.
  • Translate business needs into clear and actionable requirements for technical teams.
  • Challenge existing processes and identify opportunities to improve reporting and data usage.
  • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder discussions to understand priorities and requirements.
  • Collaborate with developers, testers, and product teams to support solution delivery.
  • Support backlog refinement, prioritisation activities, and business readiness.
  • Assist with solution validation, demonstrations, and UAT activities.

Experience Required

  • Must be Qualified Accountant
  • Proven Business Analysis experience within Finance, Accounting, or Finance Transformation environments.
  • Strong understanding of accounting processes and financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience gathering requirements for reporting, analytics, or data-led solutions.
  • Familiarity with reporting and visualisation tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
  • Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and workshop facilitation skills.
  • Ability to challenge requirements constructively and focus on delivering business value and process improvement.
