Job Description

HR AdvisorCheshire | Β£35,000 | 12-15 month FTC | Hybrid & flexible working

Ready to be part of something bigger?

We're looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join a well-established, internationally recognised manufacturing business based in Cheshire.

This is a great opportunity for a commercially minded HR professional who enjoys being close to the business, working with people at all levels and having a genuine impact on how HR is delivered.

The business is going through an exciting period of growth and development, and the People function is evolving alongside it. Working closely with the HR Business Partner, you'll have the opportunity to help shape and modernise HR policies, processes and ways of working.

The opportunity

This is far more than a traditional HR administration role. You'll be a key point of contact for managers and employees, providing practical advice across the full employee lifecycle while also helping to improve how the People function operates.

You'll be involved in:

  • Providing HR advice and guidance to managers and employees
  • Supporting recruitment, selection and onboarding
  • Advising on employee relations, attendance and organisational change
  • Drafting contracts, offer letters and contractual amendments
  • Maintaining accurate employee records and HR systems
  • Reviewing, updating and improving HR policies and processes
  • Bringing structure and consistency to existing HR information and processes
  • Supporting learning and development initiatives, including management training, PDPs and objectives
  • Using data and Excel to produce meaningful reports for senior stakeholders
  • Working with stakeholders across both operational and corporate functions

About you

You'll be an experienced HR Advisor with a generalist background and a genuine interest in making a difference.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has solid HR advisory experience and ideally holds CIPD Level 5, or is willing to work towards it
  • Is confident providing practical, commercially focused advice
  • Has excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
  • Has a continuous improvement mindset and can demonstrate where you've improved processes or ways of working
  • Is confident with Microsoft 365, Excel and learning new systems and technology
  • Can use data to provide meaningful insight to senior stakeholders
  • Is comfortable working in ambiguous situations and using their own judgement
  • Is willing to challenge traditional approaches to HR and look beyond simply following "best practice"
  • Is approachable, reliable and committed to delivering an excellent service
  • Doesn't necessarily have manufacturing experience, but is curious and willing to understand the operational environment

You'll be comfortable working on site at least three days a week, with flexible working hours between 7am and 7pm.

What's on offer?

  • 12-15 month fixed-term contract
  • 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Additional annual leave for company events
  • Flexible start and finish times between 7am and 7pm
  • Flexi-hours scheme, allowing you to build up hours and take an additional day off each month
  • Death in service benefit of 4x annual salary
  • Employee discounts
  • Free on-site parking

Why this role?

If you're looking for an HR role where you can genuinely influence how things are done, this could be a great fit.

The People function is evolving, and you'll have a real opportunity to help shape that journey rather than simply inherit an established way of working.

You'll be joining a business with an established international presence, ambitious plans for the future and a strong focus on developing its people.
